Support Israel

From: JewishClubMaoz@yahoogroups.com

Visit this group
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/JewishClubMaoz/

Over the years I expressed great frustration with subscribers to this group claiming to be somehow pro-Israel.

Each one of you knows very well how to push that computer mouse in your spare time, fulling yourself into thinking that you have
done something for Israel.

When presented with real opportunities to save lives of your fellow Jews in Eretz Yisroel, and to make a stand against foreign land
grabbers... where are any of you?

America is supposedly a country of free speech: it is no challenge to wear your convictions on your sleeve, but when actions are
needed somehow this proud bunch of American Jewish freedom lovers bravely follows in the footsteps of the previous generations of
Jewish Americans who didn't do practically anything to save European Jewry from the Holocaust.

Tony Blair and other official foreign invaders come into Israel, build on her sovereign soil, and then turn it all over to the
Arabs. I am not just talking about scores of non-profits that are openly building a case against Israelis with the purpose of
annihilating the State of Israel via diplomatic means. We are talking FULL ON official foreign invasion, limiting Jews' every move
and preventing us from building on our own soil while financing all sorts of projects and assisting Arabs with moving in, and taking
over.

I am talking about the kind of reality for Israel's Jews, where in one day they deal with as much as your average American Jew does
not experience in a lifetime. Since 2002 I have been trying to get the message out that 99% of terrorist attacks do not get reported
in the world media because they didn't claim a life. Sadly, you are drinking the media's Kool-Aid, perpetuating an image of Israel
where everything is peachy and some paranoid individuals are really exaggerating the whole thing.

It is much easier to redirect attention of the public and talk about Israel's scientific and technological achievements that to
delve into reality of the situation.

I do not exaggerate when I say that the Rabbis in America choose to focus on ritual, but avoid the part where they are expected to
encourage their congregants to bring Torah values to life. What's the use in millions, ney, billions of $ being spent on buildings
for worship if every single one of them is devoid of spiritual meaning. We are coming upon Passover when the more observant Jews
scrub their homes, spend enormous amounts of money on chow certified Kosher for Passover. Jews of all denominations hold Seders:
communal and family kind, not once stopping of the original reason we sit down and eat a fine meal several times a year. It not to
showcase our culinary know-how, not to flash the latest fashions, but to remind of our own History and to TO LEARN FROM IT and DO
RIGHT by your fellow Jews and the land of Israel today.

Mr. Danziger is on his first visit to the USA for the first time in two years to tell us how they reclaim land that the foreigners
are trying to take away, how they reclaim the Jewish youth from Hizballah's blooming business of drug trafficking, how 4,000 of the
IDF's most experienced and dedicated reservists refuse to put down their weapons and fight back against Arab terror DAILY.

Open your shuls and homes to this amazing individual and get the real story from someone who has been living it since 1972 when he
made Aliyah. Last year The Jerusalem Post ran a cover story about Mishmeret Yesha, but for the most part the media tends to focus on
short-lived stories of the day. Politicians come and go. Sometimes they threaten to get rid of the Jewish Land, sometimes their
words and even legislation supports the people on the ground. but for the most part politicians come and go, but people like Mr.
Danziger stay and count on themselves. If you want to know what the future holds in store for the people of Israel, you ought to
host this man and pepper him with questions and then ask what you can do to support the Israelis fighting the daily battle for
survival. Ithe help we ask does not always involve $$$. We need you!

Be the israel supporters you claimed to be when you joined this group, stand up to the cowardess of the Rabbis avoiding everything
and anything remotely 'political' out of fear for their pocketbook. Be there for Israel when she needs you most.

OUR UNREPORTED GRASS ROOTS COUNTER-PROTEST AT THE WALDORF

By: Helen Freedman

On Tuesday evening, March 9, from 5-7 P.M., in New York City, close to 250 defenders of Israel gathered at the NYPD designated spot
on Park Avenue, opposite the Waldorf Astoria Hotel, to counter-protest against those who were there to defame and denigrate Israel's
Chief of Staff, Lt. General Gabi Ashkenazi and the IDF. While hundreds of Israel haters, including members of left-wing Jewish
organizations, and the Neturai Karta, marched on Lexington Avenue and across Park Avenue, right in front of the Waldorf, with their
professionally made signs, all black with white letters, our groups, the lovers of Israel, were enthusiastically carrying their
flags, signs, and banners in support of Israel.

Our grass roots groups, in addition to Americans for a Safe Israel/AFSI, included the Human Rights Coalition Against Radical Islam,
with Andy Upton and Marvin Belsky leading the way. Their organization includes many Hindus, and the Namdhari Sikh Foundation members
were there supporting our efforts. Lori Lowenthal Marcus, of Z Street, had arranged to bring in Col. Ben-Tzion Gruber, an amazing
speaker from Israel who gives detailed information about the scrupulous efforts made on the part of the IDF to be as moral and
ethical and humane in their fighting program as is humanly possible. In many cases, the restraint exercised by the IDF to prevent
human casualties puts the lives of Israel's soldiers in danger.

With the help of Pam Geller of Atlas Shrugs, Lori interviewed Col. Gruber on the spot and the interview is posted on their blogs.
Lori also secured copies of records of the leaflets, phone calls and local radio and TV station messages which were sent out by the
IDF during Operation Cast Lead, alerting the civilians to their planned actions and telling civilians to evacuate targeted places.
We know that the Arab reaction to these warnings, in many cases, simply encouraged the leaders to send women and children to the
rooftops, thereby preventing the IDF from carrying out their plans. What other army would fight a war in such a way? Certainly not
the Arabs, who use their civilians as human shields, and deliberately fight from hospitals, schools, mosques and homes.

We also had a large showing from the Russian Jewish community, as well as youngsters from various schools and synagogues. They were
so eager to hold the flags, signs and banners supporting Israel. It was heartwarming to have the young people with us. Supporters
also came from such groups as Stand With Us, the National Council of Young Israel, Get Out The Facts, ZOA, Shalom International,
Jewish Action Alliance, Jewish Voice and Opinion, and the World Committee for the Land of Israel. Some passers-by, who saw our signs
and gave us the thumbs up, also joined with us. Israelis visiting from Israel, such as Dan Luria of Ateret Cohanim and Yossi Baumol
of the Hebron Fund were there, speaking to the crowd and giving us the benefit of their first hand knowledge. Rabbi David Algaze,
spiritual leader of Congregation Havurat Yisrael in Forest Hills, Queens, NY, who is always ready to lend his support to our efforts
on behalf of Israel, was there, offering words of strength and encouragement.

When we understood that the NYPD would not stop us from "walking" with our signs, as the Israel haters were doing, we began walking
also. We walked past the designated location of the Arabs, just a block away from our spot. The PA flags were flying boldly, and a
huge loud speaker was set up. As we walked past them, venomous words were hurled at us. So much hatred and ignorance was evident.
I'm proud to say that our messages were just the opposite. We see ourselves as educators and spokesmen of the truth. Tragically, in
the world of blind hatred, truth does not seem to carry much weight.

As for the media presence, it was not very visible. Al-Jazeera interviewed me, along with Dan Luria. A fellow who said he was from
the NY Times took pictures of me holding my sign which read, "AFSI stands with the IDF." He interviewed me also, taking my name and
position as Executive Director of AFSI. I made sure to give him a flyer about Col. Kemp who described the IDF as the most moral and
ethical army he has ever known. Our flyer also carried David Bedein's article on "The Real Apartheid State," which would be
"Palestine," if it ever came into existence. I have no idea if he wrote anything up, or if he even was from the Times, since he was
wearing a khaffiyya scarf around his neck.

The JTA reporter never bothered to interview me or any of the other organizers, to my knowledge. The fact that their report disposed
of our counter-protest with a one sentence dismissive description is certainly no credit to their reporting talents or interests.
Where the JTA reporter described some of the signs carried by the Israel haters, he/she couldn't be troubled to describe any of our
signs highlighting the abuses of Muslims throughout the world against all "infidels", the danger that Hamas poses to all, including
the "Palestinians," and our favorite sign of all, "The world does not need another Arab terrorist state."

I'm very grateful to all those who stood together with us at yet another demonstration in support of Israel. It is unfortunate that
we never get the participation of the 52 organizations that make up the Conference of Presidents of Major Jewish Organizations.
Perhaps something will happen to make them realize that silence in the face of oppression, is acquiescence.

URGENT COUNTER-PROTEST , TUESDAY, MARCH 9, 5-7 P.M.

TO ALL THOSE WHO CARE ABOUT ISRAEL -

IT IS URGENT THAT YOU ATTEND THE COUNTER-PROTEST RALLY

Across from the WALDORF ASTORIA - PARK AVE.,bet. 49th & 50th Streets, NYC

On Tuesday, March 9, The Friends of the IDF is having their annual dinner at the Waldorf Astoria Hotel in NYC. We have learned that
there will be an Arab demonstration outside the hotel, defaming the IDF and Gabi Ashkenazi, the Chief of the IDF General Staff.

We will be handing out information, holding signs, Israeli and American flags, and alerting the public as to the true nature of
Fatah, Hamas and the PA. The Hamas terrorist acts against Christians and Fatah, the use of women and children as human shields, the
firing of rockets from mosques, homes, and schools in order to deter IDF retaliation, the misinformation and hatred being fed to
Arab children in their classrooms and through PA media, will all be detailed.

We'll be highlighting the IDF and Israeli assistance to the Arabs in the fields of medical care, education, and providing a
standard of living for Arab Israelis that is the highest in the Middle East. In addition, in opposition to the recent "apartheid"
claims against Israel, the Israeli Arabs enjoy full democratic rights in the Knesset , in their religious observances, and in the
media.

A number of grass roots activist groups have come together to counter-protest on that evening. They include Americans For a Safe
Israel/AFSI, Get Out The Facts, Human Rights Coalition Against Radical Islam, National Council of Young Israel, Shalom
International, Stand With Us, World Committee for the Land of Israel, Zionist Organization of America/ZOA . Individuals such as
Assemblyman Dov Hikind, Lori Lowenthal Marcus, and Andy Upton are also working with us. Others continue to join. PLEASE BE THERE

Sunday, Dec. 13, 2009, from 11AM-12 noon, in front of the Israeli Consulate, 42nd Street and Second Avenue, NYC, people of conscience will gather to protest against the immoral, illegal, unconscionable construction freeze ordered by PM Bibi Netanyahu and approved by the Knesset.  It’s purpose seems to be to appease the Arab enemy, which has already announced that the freeze is insufficient to meet its demands.

In violation of the right-wing Likud mandate to preserve the Land of Israel for the Jewish people, a draconian order has been issued to stop work on all construction in the Jewish communities in Judea and Samaria for a period of ten months while Arab construction continues unabated.

Defense Minister Ehud Barak is implementing this order with the use of the IDF and Yassamnakim, a special forces unit, dressed in black, reminiscent of the Nazi SS.

Just as in the expulsion of the Jews from Gush Katif, no thought has been given to the emotional, economic, and physical hardships inflicted upon the 300,000 residents of Judea and Samaria, as well as all those involved in the construction industry.

We urge all those who care about the preservation of the Land of Israel to be present on the second day of Chanukah, Sunday, Dec. 13, to rally to the cry of Judah Maccabee, “All those who are faithful, follow me!!” Although this rally will be taking place in NYC, we urge people throughout the country to follow suit and organize demonstrations in their own communities.

Description:

A group of six actors has created a mime show named "Avanim" (Hebrew for stones), inspired by a sculpture made by Nathan
Rappaport ( 1911-1987) .

The sculpture is located in Warsaw at the spot where the ghetto used to be (there is also a replica of the sculpture in the Yad
Va'Shem Museum). It has two distinct sides which are related: The back of the sculpture depicts a group of figures representing the
people sent to the death camps from the ghetto, while the front of the sculpture depicts the Warsaw Ghetto warriors with weapons in
hand. At the very center stands the figure of Mordechai Anielewicz, holding the flame that sparked the fire of the uprising.

The actors employ a unique technique: their faces and bodies are covered in black mud from the Dead Sea. They stand in the exact
position of the figures in Rappaport's sculpture.

Very slowly the sculpture starts moving and the group manages to bring the sculpture to life.

The props used in the performance go through a transformation - a yellow ribbon turns into a swastika, then into a yellow star,
and finally into a Star of David.

The soundtrack begins with a speech delivered by Hitler and ends with Achinoam Nini's lovely and moving voice singing the song that
was the theme of the film, "Life is Beautiful".

Through this resurrection some painful concepts are conveyed about the darkest period in the troubled history of the Jewish people.

Recommendation of IL Embassy in Lisbon: "... Without doubt, the "Avanim" production presents a unique and powerful theatre
experience, combining pantomime, music, movement, lighting and text in such a way that hundreds of invited guests were both touched
and moved. These guests included government officials, such as the Portuguese cultural minister, foreign ministry officials and
representatives of various government bodies, diplomats, local contact people from all fields and Jewish and Israeli community
representatives. The show received much praise.".

In Germany the show was selected in 2007 as one of the ten best performances in the world.

Special attractions:
The show fit for outdoor festival or indoor auditoriums.

Special requirements:
Attached is technical requirements for the "Avanim" show.

Rabbi Noah Weinberg of Blessed Memory

Rabbi Weinberg founded Aish Hatorah. I met Rabbi Weinberg. He reminded me of my parents. A personable Brooklyn Jew. He was a giant in his contributions to making the world a better place. I know he did for me.

Subject: Rav Noach Weinberg, of blessed memory

Rabbi Noah Weinberg, of blessed memory by aish.com.

We write these words with great sadness and disbelief.

We write these words with great sadness and disbelief -- our beloved Rosh Yeshiva, HaRav Yisrael Noach ben Yitzchak Mattisyahu Weinberg - passed away this morning, Feb 5/ Shevat 11.

The funeral will be today at 1:30 pm, at the Ahavas Torah Shul in Kiryat Zanz, Jerusalem, and will proceed from there to Har Menuchos.

Words at this time feel wholly inadequate to describe the greatness of Rabbi Weinberg, of blessed memory. The shock is too great and the pain too fresh, but the situation demands a few words, and over the next week a more fitting tribute will be created.

Rabbi Weinberg was a Jewish leader and visionary par excellence. Every fiber of his being was animated by the reality of the Almighty and the truth of Torah. He lived with the awareness of God -- His infinite love and awesomeness -- and the power of Torah to instruct us on how to live a most meaningful life.

Rabbi Weinberg passionately believed in the greatness of every human being, because God Himself testified to the inherent greatness in every human being.

Rabbi Weinberg exuded love and concern for every Jew, and was a beloved father to thousands.

Rabbi Weinberg dedicated his life to bringing a renaissance within Jewish people, to reach out to every Jew and reconnect him to the depth and meaning of our heritage. The Jewish people are meant to be a light unto nations; Rabbi Weinberg undertook the task to galvanize the Jewish people and inspire us to live up to our mission and be Kiddush Hashem - to sanctify God's Name in this world.

"The hidden things are for Hashem, our God, but the revealed things are for us and our children forever, to carry out all the words of this Torah" (Deut. 29:28). Rabbi Weinberg lived with the reality that the all the revealed things are our responsibility. If masses of Jews are assimilating, it's our responsibility to bring each and every one back. If there is a threat to the Jewish Nation or to the Western world, it cannot be ignored. We must meet the challenges facing us head on and do whatever we can to remedy the situation.

Rabbi Weinberg was fighting the battles of the Jewish people until his last day. Today we are orphans.

Send your condolences and memories of our beloved Rosh Yeshiva in the comment section below.

Ongoing Jewish Event Listings

Be sure to check the Ongoing Jewish events section.

For smaller communities, the Upcoming Jewish events section can be empty. Upcoming events have to be replenished every couple of weeks, so it is easy for those sections to empty out.

www.JewishNetwork.com was dropped from Google. How inconsiderate.

Google gives no specific reason, only stating that there was a violation of Google's policies. Contacting Google has proven useless.

I believe the cause is duplicate content. Event listings can be displayed on more than one website. For example, Israeli dance sessions are displayed on both www.JewishNetwork.com and on www.IsraeliDance.info, since the event is of interest to both communities.

This makes the event listings easily found by human beings and is a perfectly legitimate use of duplicate listings.

Google has their policies to avoid people spamming Google's index, but they failed to take inconsideration valid uses of multiple listings like ours, if that is the reason we were dropped.

Unfortunately Google has a near monopoly on searching, for now.

Fortunately most of our visitors are repeat visitors. Many of our new visitors are from word-of-mouth.

Have gotten the domain name www.DroppedFromGoogle.com to fight back, but have not posted anything there yet.
